MD, Ophthalmologist Vitreo –retina Surgeon

  • Studied Medicine at Gondar College of Medical Sciences, September 1994 – November 2000 and graduated with Doctorate degree in Medicine.

  • Graduate of Addis Ababa University, department of ophthalmology, with Specialty Certificate in Ophthalmology in 2010.

  • Trained on Lasers in diabetic retinopathy management at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, India, August1, 2012-September 28, 2012.

  • Fellow in Vitreous and Retina diseases and Surgery with rotation program from Moran eye Institute, University of Utah, USA to at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Nepal, from November 1, 2013 to June 30, 2015.

  • Organized and conducted several Cataract Outreach Programs in countryside of Ethiopia in collaboration with Himalayan Cataract Project and Rotary Club of Poland (2012, 2013).

  • Attended International Scientific meetings on a number of occasions that includes AAO annual meeting (2012, 2013, 2016), 7th World Congress on Controversies in Ophthalmology (2016), 4th Global Retina Network Program (2018) and Preceptor ship in Retina from 2013 up to now.

  • Works with full time practice Monday through Saturday at WGGA Eye Centre primarily in the evaluation and management of medical and surgical retinal disorders and cataract. His areas of especial interest include diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, Age related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions and Surgeries of retinal detachments and Macular hole.
